66 Children

Sometimes it's what doesn't make the news that is important. On July 3rd 1988, Iran Air Fligh 655, a civilian airliner, was shot down by US missiles killing all 290 passengers (including 66 children). The US government says the crew mistakenly identified the civilian plane as an enemy F-14. The US has never admitted any wrongdoing, responsibility nor have they apologized to Iran.
